Arcadeflow Installation Guide

Welcome to the Arcadeflow installation guide. Follow these step-by-step instructions to get your ultimate Attract Mode theme up and running.

Prerequisites

  1. Attract Mode+ 3.2.0 (v17.7 requirement) or standard Attract Mode installed.
  2. A populated Romlist and Emulator set up in your Attract Mode directory.

Step 1: Download Arcadeflow

  1. Download the latest release from the Arcadeflow GitHub Repository.
  2. Extract the Arcadeflow folder into your Attract Mode layouts directory (for example, C:\AttractMode\layouts\Arcadeflow).

Step 2: Configure the Emulator Identifier

Arcadeflow uses the System Identifier feature to accurately size game box arts and layouts.

  • In Attract Mode, go to your Emulator settings.
  • Set the System Identifier to your desired system name (e.g., Game Boy, Sega Genesis, Arcade).
  • If you're configuring a handheld emulator with an LCD screen, Arcadeflow will detect strings like "Game Boy" and automatically format the screen accordingly!

Step 3: Run Attract Mode

  1. Launch Attract Mode.
  2. Press TAB and go to Displays.
  3. Select the display you want to configure, and change its Layout to Arcadeflow.
  4. Escape back to the main menu. Arcadeflow's grid interface should now be visible.
  5. You can also configure multiple displays by tweaking the Displays Menu specifically categorized by AF (Arcade, Console, Computer, etc.).

Step 4: Metadata and Scraping

Arcadeflow lets you automatically enrich your UI directly from the theme's core engine!

  1. Press your assigned UP button to access the Arcadeflow Context Menu.
  2. Select Scrape selected game or use the Layout Options to scrape the entire romlist.
  3. Arcadeflow will pull rich metadata securely from ScreenScraper or Arcade Italia.

Step 5: Master Romlist & Media

Arcadeflow supports external game metadata databases.

  • Game data is kept outside the actual layout logic, so it shares smoothly across all compilations.
  • Just point your History.dat, Command.dat, and RetroPie XML sources in the AF menu paths and build massive catalogs instantaneously.
